9 Signs You May Not Be Getting Enough Magnesium

Magnesium is one of those minerals your body needs for A LOT of things — from muscles and nerves to energy production and more.
And yet, many of us don’t think about whether we’re actually getting enough.
Here are 9 signs that may be worth paying attention to:
- Muscle cramps or spasms
- Feeling tired or low on energy
- Trouble sleeping
- Feeling stressed or on edge
- Headaches
- Muscle tension or tightness
- Occasional constipation
- Changes in appetite
- Tingling or numbness
Do you experience any of these?
You may be wondering, How do I make sure I’m getting enough magnesium?
Magnesium is naturally found in foods like pumpkin seeds, almonds, spinach, beans, whole grains, avocado, and dark chocolate.
But here’s the thing…
Even with a healthy, balanced diet, getting enough of every nutrient every day isn’t always easy.
And when it comes to supplements, there’s another consideration: when you take magnesium orally, it has to travel through your digestive system before your body can use it. Not all of what you consume is necessarily absorbed.
That’s one reason I love having a topical magnesium option.
Instead of adding another pill or capsule to your routine, topical magnesium is simply applied directly to your skin.
It’s easy to use, easy to keep on hand, and can fit into your everyday routine without having to swallow another supplement.
For me, that’s what makes topical magnesium so appealing. It’s one less thing to remember to take and one more simple way to incorporate magnesium into my routine.
And there are several ways to use it — sprays, lotions, and convenient magnesium sticks — so you can find what works best for you.
So… could magnesium be something you’re missing?
If you recognized yourself in several of the signs above, it might be worth taking a closer look at your magnesium intake and learning more about your options.
Magnesium doesn’t have to mean another pill in your cabinet.
Sometimes, simple really is better.
